Modernise your home with the Steel Roofing Specialists

There are many contributing factors which can lead to your decision to re roof your home. You may just love the look of a Colorbond® roof or your existing roof may simply be too old and/or damaged to restore. Replacing your old tiled, iron or asbestos roof with a new Bluescope steel Colorbond or Zincalume roof will not only give you the security and piece of mind your looking for but will also reduce maintenance, lower heating costs (when used with insulated blanket) and deter intruders.

Re-roofing your home may be more costly than restoration, but the benefits (such as those outlined above) often outweigh the cost, with an increase in your property’s value, easy maintenance and overall providing a longer lasting result. Most importantly your roof will look fantastic, bringing your home into the 21st Century!

Re-Roof Process

Below are a set of photographs which portray the process for a particular project and should be viewed as a guide only. Individual projects can vary depending on elements that are required for example: handrails, cranes, scaffolding, removal of asbestos, tiles etc. All work carried out on this project followed all rules and regulations from the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission. To find out more about Asbestos Removal please click here to visit our Asbestos Specialists pages.

1. Before – Highset Fibro roof

Being a highset roof - Safety rails are erected before work begins.

2. Removal of old roof Sheeting

The old fibro Sheets are safely removed and disposed of.

3. Vacuum Debris – Fibro Roofs

All debris is vacuumed using a certified asbestos HEP3 vacuum cleaner from inside the roof space to ensure no asbestos fibres are left behind.

4. Cleaned and Sealed Site

With fibro (asbestos) roofs like the one you see here, extra care is needed to ensure the site is clean and safe before the new roof is fitted. A sealer is sprayed over the entire ceiling space to ensure any possible remaining fibres are encapsulated.

5. Laying of the insulation blanket

Insulation blankets come in 2 different thicknesses: 50mm and 75mm.

This insulation both reduces noise and creates comfort inside the home.

6. Laying of new Colorbond sheeting

In older style homes (like the home featured here) Zincalume® roof sheeting is commonly used to compliment the period of the home.

For a more contemporary look the wide range of Colorbond® colours offer a fantastic range of choice to modernise your home. (See our Colours page to get some ideas).

7. Safety rails are removed

After the roof sheeting has been laid (and optional extras like ventilators and skylights have been fitted) the safety rails are removed and the work can be inspected.

8. After – The finished project
